Expert Brick and Stone Soft Washing

At Patty's Pressure Washing, we specialize in transforming brick, stone, and stucco surfaces to enhance the beauty of your home. Brick and stone are built to last a century, but the mortar between them and the growth on top of them are not: lichen bites into the brick face, moss holds water in the joints through the freeze-thaw cycle, and algae turns a red-brick walk dark and slick.

Our soft-washing technique substitutes environmentally friendly cleansers for high-pressure water, loosening the dirt before a safe-pressure rinse carries it away. The cleansers are biodegradable and only target harmful living organisms like lichens, mold, and algae. High pressure would blow out soft mortar and spall the brick face; soft washing keeps the masonry sound and the mortar joints intact.

Brick and Stone FAQ

Will soft washing hurt the mortar?

No. High pressure on old brick blows out soft mortar and can spall the brick face; soft washing avoids both. The cleanser does the work, the rinse is gentle, and the mortar joints stay intact - the same low pressure we use on siding and roofs.

How do you handle my plants?

Our cleansers are biodegradable. Every bed is thoroughly watered before and after the job and never tarped, because tarps suffocate foliage. That standard is Patty's Way.

What surfaces does this suit besides brick?

Stone and stucco, plus limestone trim, bluestone walks and flagstone patios. The growth comes off and the stone stays whole. Poolside stone and coping get the same treatment.

How is brick or stone work quoted?

By the elevation and the surface - brick, stone or stucco - all of it soft washed, so the method does not change halfway through and neither does the quote. Most are quoted the same day from property imagery. Where mortar is already loose or a brick face is spalling, we point it out before we start.
